About Ken

Ken Brick has over 25 years of experience in the field of mental health. He has been private psychotherapy practice in Wilmington Delaware since 2002. Ken is a licensed clinical social worker with post graduate training in emotionally focused attachment-based psychotherapy (AEDP Institute) and structured couple’s treatment (Gottman Institute). He is a fully certified Gottman therapist and Level 2 AEDP therapist – please ask if you need clarification on what these credentials mean.

Ken has expertise treating a wide range of concerns from milder life adjustments to deeply traumatic challenges. He uses a relational approach which can include psychodynamic/existential analysis (internal) as well as more cognitive oriented frameworks (external).

For couples seeking treatment Ken utilizes a structured diagnostic and treatment process which emphasizes empirically tested strategies shown to provide immediate relief, altering tensions, and highlighting strengths.

Ken works collaboratively with a range of experienced treatment professionals. He has the resources to refer patients to skilled psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, educational evaluators and nutritional counseling.

Rates & Insurance

BASE RATE
$140 per 50-minute session, $240 initial diagnostic assessment sessions can be as long as 80 minutes

INSURANCE
Insurance is not accepted as direct payment for treatment, however many patients do receive "out-of-network" benefits covering a portion of the cost of therapy. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
  • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

PAYMENT
Cash or check are accepted for payment. Credit cards are not encouraged but are accepted.

CANCELLATION POLICY
We request 48 hours notice to either cancel or reschedule appointments. If you miss an appointment you have scheduled without such notice you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
